"You'll have to travel far to find a better-tasting pie. The almond tart is out of this world — perfect from the base, to the filling, to the top."

FIVE YEARS OF HOMEMADE
For five years we've baked our own artisan pies, rolled our own Dutch kroketten and pulled proper coffee from a single, carefully blended medium roast. Everything is made fresh in our Sedgefield kitchen — to eat in our sunny courtyard, take away hot, or pop in the freezer for an easy supper at home. Sit down or to go. Either way, it's the home of homemade.
THE PIES
Packed with proper meat, not sauce. Our regulars keep people coming back week after week — and our speciality pies, like the legendary Basagna and the Beef & Blonde (slow-braised in blonde ale), are worth the stop on their own.
Beef & Blonde
topside braised in blonde ale, mushrooms & stilton
Basagna
Italian-style mince, mozzarella & mild parmesan sauce
Creamy Chicken
free-range favourite
Pepper Steak
pure beef, mild & peppery
Breakfast Pie
whole free-range egg, bacon & cheddar

A DUTCH SPECIALITY
A-grade topside braised in farm butter, then shredded, rolled and hand-crumbed for that signature contrast: a delicate, melting filling inside a golden, crisp coating. Beef or free-range chicken, served with mustard. Regulars say they're the best this side of the Netherlands — and we're inclined to agree.

PROPER COFFEE
We've served the same carefully blended medium roast since day one — flat whites, cortados, a seriously good iced coffee, and the kind of cappuccino that's worth pulling off the N2 for. Pair it with a slice of Dutch almond tart and you've found your new favourite stop.
FOR THE SWEET TOOTH
Dutch almond tart, carrot-cake cupcakes, cheesecake — and a tin's worth of tea-time treats: rusks, speculaas, oat crunchies, fruit squares and Dutch butter biscuits. Save room.

EAT IN, TAKE AWAY, OR TAKE HOME FROZEN
Find us just off the N2 between Knysna and Wilderness, next to the Engen at Scarab Market. There's a sunny courtyard to sit in, a spot inside if you'd rather, and friendly faces either way. Browse the local craft stalls while your pie's in the oven — or grab a box of frozen pies for the road.
